RogueScr: Another Hidden Screen

While exploring the game data files apart from the hidden team photo I also noticed many familiar images. These were stored under backdrop folder and some of them were simple JPEG images.

As I was experimenting with writing Windows screensaver applications, I decided to write a screensaver that pulls out those Star Wars movie scenes which are used as background images in the game and shows them randomly. Now it is ready and available only here and for you… Click here to download… and May the Force be with you!

Another hidden image: this one used for the initial menu screen in N64 version of the game is hidden in the PC version.

This simple screen saver uses the game data, so it requires the Star Wars: Rogue Squadron properly installed in your system. And it does not support preview, options and password features yet. In addition to backdrop images the screensaver shows also a picture of Luke Skywalker next to his X-Wing, which is familiar to those who played Nintendo N64 version from the initial menu screen, while it is hidden in the PC version.
